Troublemaker200
I tried self spanking with my plastic hairbrush but it didn’t hurt or go red at all will a wooden spoon be better and hurt more and can someone watch me do it ? Link to comment
Scorrect
Yes, it will hurt, depending, of course, upon how hard you swing and how heavy/large the spoon is. Try snapping your wrist to increase the impact speed. Why not make a video so lots of folks can watch? 1 Link to comment

badboyotk47
You need a wooden hairbrush to make it turn red, or get a wooden bath brush..they are effective. A wooden spoon is great if someone else id using it, but for a self spanking it may be hard to get a lot of power from it because it has a thin short handle. But you can try it and see. 1 Link to comment
dmirk
Yes! That’s when you need a wooden bath brush! Link to comment
rubyredd
I am not a self-spanker, but have you tried a wooden hairbrush-style paddle? Way more effective than a plastic brush. Or, as suggested... a wooden bathbrush. You can get a really good one for less than $10 on Amazon. Link to comment
OhRedhead
I prefer wood, not plastic, and I agree with others that a bath brush can be VERY effective. Link to comment
NeedDiscipline9
You could go really crazy and purchase a proper "made-for-the-job" spanking paddle on Amazon too. I have two - one that has drilled-out holes in it and another plain one. The plain one I decided was too thin so I bought another and glued the two together to make a nice thick wooden paddle that my wife uses from time to time to discipline me. If she uses this paddle, it takes very few swats to bring a red hue to my buttocks and I'm usually writhing across her knees.. I say "from time to time" as she often prefers to use the strap - a genuine Lochgelly tawse purchased on eBay - and the kind used in Scottish schools until the late '70s. Men NEED the discipline of a woman - no doubt about it. 🙂 1 Link to comment

I agree - up to a point. The "Lexan paddle" is however plastic (with drilled holes) and although I have no personal experience with this implement, is supposed to deliver a VERY painful spanking. Spankingmyhuby
I prefer using a paddle - hairbrush of oak. It's 10 inches long and 3/4 " thick and delivers a very nice sting , with very little effort. It's quite handy it fits in my purse and it's quite convenient when I need to use over the knee correction. MS L. 2 Link to comment

Scorrect
I agree, OhRedhead. Lexan is overrated. Since I’m not a self spanker, I don’t have much to recommend to you, Troublemaker200. It seems like long handled implements like a wooden spoon or bath brush vigorously applied should do the trick. For me, nothing compares to the rush I get being taken over a woman’s lap for an intense hairbrush and/or bath brush spanking. With either brush I redden up very quickly. 1 Link to comment
DisobedientHuby
The wooden spoon would definitely hurt more than the plastic hairbrush. I would highly suggest a good paddle or long handle wooden bath brush. My wife prefers the Jakori paddle we bought on ebay. She finds it more comfortable for her and because of the weight a good swing will sting like you just got a fire set on your bottom. She used to play women's softball as the clean up hitter. She can hit some home runs on my bottom with that paddle if she is in the mood. 1 Link to comment
Scorrect
Good information, DisobedientHuby, Your wife sounds like a very effective disciplinarian. You’re a lucky guy. I should have clarified that I strongly prefer the feel of wood. Wooden paddle shaped hairbrushes and a wooden round headed bath brushes are my favorites. I like the wooded spoon , as well. It leaves round red marks and stings very effectively when swung with force. Belts and straps float my boat, too, especially when used just before an OTK session. I don’t think they would be easy to self administer, though. Might take some time to master. Never felt a Jakori paddle, but I’d be up for that, too (so to speak 😀). 1 Link to comment

I have heard that paddles with big holes are very effective especially it the holes have sharp edges. My wife did try the handle of a bamboo back Scratched that had large holes in it. It stung but not Nearly as much as the paddle but it did seem to leave some welts and I'm still a little sore. We are hoping to find something she is comfortable with that we'll leave me having a hard time sitting. The paddle stings so bad it has me begging immediately but the long term effects only last from a few hours to just part of the next day. Link to comment

I like our lexan a paddle a lot. A LOT. But it is far less painful than the wooden paddles in our collection. Bonus... less bruising. Link to comment
ToughTanner
A simple bath brush also fits right between a hairbrush and a paddle. Leaves a nice red, but doesn’t cause lasting damage, and is fairly easy to swing. Link to comment

Lord help me, I'd do it again though over the right lap...! Link to comment
OhRedhead
I have found that a bath brush CAN result in some pretty intense and long-lasting after-effects. Care is needed to avoid large hematomas and even bone bruises. Link to comment
nicoleS39
I got it with a sturdy longer handled wooden bath brush now a couple of times...I can testify it surprised me how much it stung and even bruised me. Very ouch. With me, it is a butt cheek by butt cheek experience and different from being whacked with my husband's school style paddle. It is applied "across" both my butt cheeks. Both bring sting, but in a different way. I have never actually been spanked with a hair brush, but in my head I am thinking the wood longer handled bath brush is far more intense. I thought I was in for it with that bath brush the other day, but I wound up getting the belt instead...and...was kinda relieved....to tell the truth. Link to comment
Scorrect
Yes, Ohredhead & NicoleS39, my experience has been the same. If the ER (or in the case of self spanking, you) aren’t careful serious bruising or worse can occur. There are bath brushes made of plastic which are not as impactful as wood, but still hurt a lot. I have found that a wooden bath brush with a round head hurts worse than one with oval one (if applied with equal firmness). The round head covers enough of one cheek that the hurt radiates throughout. It’s both stingy and a thuddy and hurts both on the surface and deeper, well into the muscle. I was struck once on my tailbone by an errant stroke. It took me more than a month to heal. So, be very careful! My ER used a wooden spoon and/or wooden paddle shaped (i.e. rectangular head) hairbrush for routine spankings. Both hurt a lot, but they’re not in the same league as the bath brush. She reserved the belt, followed by the bath brush for serious disobedience. She kept two bath brushes—one with an oval head and the other with a round one. The oval one has a tag on it from the manufacturer which reads: “tear free formula” (because the brush bristles were made from artificial materials). She found that quite funny. She usually began by rubbing my bottom with the bristle side to be sure my bottom wasn’t numb. Then, she’d apply the wooden side without mercy. I could only take about one minute from either brush, following a severe strapping with her belt, before my tears were flowing. She always kept going longer to get her point across that my disobedience would not be tolerated. Fortunately, and as a direct consequence, I didn’t disobey her often.😥 Link to comment
