I'm wondering whether it would be possible to set up a section where members could exchange insights into particular professional disciplinarians in various geographical reasons.  I can see certainly see some of the potential problems from the admins viewpoint. But on the other hand this would be useful information to members in light of the relatively small number of providers of the specific sorts of experiences we are looking for (disciplianary as opposed to BDSM), the fairly high cost of experimenting, and the general need for reassurance before plunging into such a meeting.

Thanks for considering.

I sort of expected that answer, but thanks for the consideration.

We used to have a section for it and our lawyers advised us to take it down once SESTA/FOSTA became a thing.

I might draw some heat for this one as it is an outside link, but this site has tons of people on it that are registered “Kink Aware Professionals,”

It includes Everything from accountants to doctors lawyers the works. Even mental health professionals that practice legitimate spanking therapy etc.

I’ve been a coalition member for them and I/c for Fetlife for years and the reviews people give for this site is phenomenal.

If you and your respective other decided to do marriage counseling and your Spanko relationship dynamics was brought up, with wrong counselors it could backfire bigtime, but with a kink aware one- it’s no worries.

Instead of posting link, just google “Kink Aware Professionals.” It will take you to kap directory and it’s all totally free to search.

Kink Aware Professionals is 100% safe to post and we welcome outside links :) It's a great resource and I link it to people all the time. We just can't allow people who aren't licensed to charge a fee for spanking and call themselves professionals and be a host for that here (Kink Aware Professionals isn't about that).

Alot of work has gone into creating that system. It’s an absolute solid resource for people involved with the kink/fetish community. If your a business owner and need a tax professional list could go on and on. Can’t always guarantee that there’s someone in your area but they are on there.

A professional disciplinarian / pro-Spanker is vastly different than a kink-aware professional (doctor, psychologist, mental healthcare pro), right? Which are we talking about? One you pay to spank you... the other had better not spank you if they want to keep their license to practice. Lol

Some of the kink aware pro’s are in fact Spanko people to and some do use it in a therapeutic setting.

Certainly agree they are risking there license but as long as both parties have openly consented to it the APA -usually -stays out of it.

there has been a few instances where a license was revoked, but those were all caused because the provider stepped outside what was consented too. Turned sexual, stalking, violating patients right to privacy etc.

Sessions with Professionals in any profession cost money. Almost all offer 30 minute phone consultations which allows you to ask questions for very reasonable fee. And my experience (though limited) will credit you if you follow through to meet.

Pro’s are on this site for enjoyment not giving away their services. Do any of you work for free?

We do not allow “pros” to solicit their services for money on the site. There are plenty of people who just want to make friendship and desire to help each other without a charge here. This is something we legally can not allow.

I'm not sure that was Handily's original proposal. I think the idea was that members who had visited pros could post a review. The pros themselves would continue to be barred.  I doubt this difference will help much with your lawyers, though. -Ex.

It would still be giving a platform for pro's and people vouching for them and or their contact - which in my opinion is safer, but the lawyer said it's still being a host for what is considered legally a form of "prostitution" and if anyone was hurt that I myself could face criminal charges and liability for allowing it on the site. :(  This legal change was a late 2019. Personally Pro's or not; I liked the idea of people having optional 'reviews' on their profiles of verified people who they've met and how encounters went (even if it was a friendly chat for coffee).

The thing about being advertised as a pro, as well as it potentially being prostitution, is that it's a massive liability issue for site owners as well. If the site allowed "Pro," to advertise services and something happened to whoever was seeking those services and it was done to them by the person advertising as a pro etc., the site owners could be found liable for it as well. Nowadays, it's almost guaranteed to happen. Very big grey area, one so big, it's best not to even trifle with it at all.

Correct; and if we allow a review system; pro or not - we could be liable for hosting a platform where people are endorsed. I can loop back in with the lawyer to see what we can do though. :)
