What functions on chat are you looking for?

As we are testing out different softwares it would be helpful to know from the community what functions they most use on chat? Main room? PM's? What is important for you to have in a chat room?

I enjoy both Main and PM options. I don't want any bells or whistles... I just want to have a chat without glitching or messages disappearing or a lag. I like the current chat set-up, I just wish it didn't glitch so much. Simple chat seems to work well for most folks because it is easier to use for the not-so-tech-savvy spankos. 

I would prefer that GIFs and picture sharing either not be options at all or restricted to PM. When we had the GIF option it just clogged up chat. Picture sharing seems like a bad idea because we don't all want to see full nudity or 🍆 pics or whatever - and the potential for that is quite high.

Ease of use for PM's and for checking a profile while remaining in the chat room. Current chat room sound is good, beta sound was harsh.

Main room and private break-out chats are all I really personally need. Any options like pictures or video clips are nice, but in my opinion, not worth their benefit if they impair performance and reliability of the main room and private chat breakouts.

For me...the current chat does not work at all. I always use an ipad, so "maybe" that is the reason. I only spent a brief time on the recent trial beta chat...so my experience is not a great basis of evaluation....but the beta did work quite well for the hour or so I spent using it. Of course, the volume of users was also pretty low, so that "might" be why it worked so well for me. I dunno. I am certainly no expert on computer things, so I will be good with whatever way you smarter folks decide to handle this. If possible, I would enjoy using chat now and then to interact with others here...but if it does not work out...it is also ok.

Once again, I appreciate all the hard work and smarts you, COL, and others do to make this a good place for us.

i like how in this chat you cant post silly gifs. That maybe just me. but it keeps the focus on words.

And that the private conversations are saved in tabs.

I like the simplicity of this set up.

Reliability is the most essential thing. Concentrate on making sure it works properly before looking at adding functionality.

No glitches in pm and main are the big one! I also really like the current setup as far as being able to see everyone’s avatar and name and then going to the side bar if wanting to see who’s in while also being able to hide it.

In chat, when you click on a member you don't know, it would be helpful to know if the person is a male or a female and seeking a male or female.

One feature that might help is for the system to automatically log out folks who haven't chatted in 5 or 10 minutes - either in main or PM. Is that even possible? 

One feature I really like is being able to customize certain aspects of chat - I always disable sounds and have names showing rather than avatars. I hope we can keep those options. Showing names makes it so much easier to keep track of who is saying what.

I like the current chat features; would like to know at a glance the gender and orientation of people in the chatroom--rollover function?  I would also appreciate a more readable font for the names (at least).  Thanks for your work!

I agree.  The chat is great and the only thing that really affects it are the glitches. Only thing in beta chat, for me, is really minor.  If possible, if the text could be in bolder or darker text.  That is all.

I'm happy with the current set up, but without the glitches, main room and one to one private chats work great and it's pretty quick to pull a profile up to see info about who you are chatting with before you pm. The one thing I would like to see return is the facility in messaging is to include pictures without a url, not all of use hosting services. Other than that keep up the great work.

I think the chat has all the basic things that are needed in a chat room. I like that it's fairly distraction free, no animated gifs, memes, etc. That can only slow the chat down plus it can sometimes be annoying if it's busy and suddenly have the screen is occupied by a row of moving emoji or some meme.

The responsiveness could be a bit better and sometimes it glitches but other than that, I wouldn't really change anything. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Some kind of separation between F/m and M/f would definitely be appreciated - like if the site could be split in two? As a male who enjoys discussion about and pictures of a woman spanking a male, it's not helpful to see Men spanking females. I liken it to a gay person being exposed to heterosexual material.

... sorry just a quick edit so say that it would be especially good if blog entries could be labelled at the top if it's F/m or M/f. An F/m person (with all due respect) isn't really interested in reading M/f material. 🙂
