Imperium
At one time I thought I could resolve mental health challenges, such as depression, with authority and spanking; but I realized the complexity of these challenges can make that belief dangerous. What I've come to understand is that the closeness of spanking or getting spanked can have a profound impact on depression. The structure and rules around discipline can have a positive impact on it. The sudden feeling of something safe and done from a position of caring can snap someone out of their numbness. I don't think of it as a solution. I would never use it as one or suggest it be used as one. I do think it has its place in making aspects of someone's life better though - and that can have a powerful benefit when someone is struggling. As with most things, the how and why someone is doing something matters in the context. If the spanker is genuine in their intentions and a rock for the spankee, that alone can be beneficial to someone struggling. 1 Link to comment
