Spanking :Hand vs implement

My preference is implements, especially paddles. Even if no more painful, an implement makes punishment seem more official. I also prefer just one implement to be used for one event, to keep it traditional.

Well said danadares, i too a big fan of an implement and one for one event. I too find it very traditional, been a South African its the cane, often refered to a stick. For good discipline it does wonders, naughtiness do go out through a bottom, no warm up. Yes a disciplinirian may start over knickers but well prefared if its a bare bottom right away.

I have been thinking about your points 2 and 3. It is the same with me, spanking is not just about the sting but also the psychological effects: shame and embarrassment at having my bottom spanked and the thought that my partner is able to discipline me using just her hand.

A woman’s hand wouldn’t be enough for me.  I need it stepped up a notch, even if with something like the palm paddle that Chawsee showed in her post.  I could see that hurting and being effective.  It’s just got to feel right from the start like a punishment to be real for me.  Starting with a hand and moving up to a paddle would be more along the line of exotic spanking to me.  I don’t want to sound disrespectful to the lady who started this discussion, for what she does is fine and between her and her husband.  I’m just explaining how it is for me.

I'll definitely cater to the woman I'm spanking. I prefer using the hand, but for some it's not enough. Or they fantasize about a certain implement.

When receiving I definitely prefer the hand. It makes me feel very boyish and naughty. I can't take, and I don't really desire, the kind of pain most implements provide. It's always been more psychological than physical for me and the hand is plenty.

Something all you youngsters haven't mentioned is arthritis. I have it in both hand. Giving a hand spanking would hurt me a LOT more than my spankee. I have a leather paddle to use in place of my hand. It's stingy but doesn't really hurt.

When I am to be spanked, I preer to leave it up to the person giving me the spanking.  When I give, however, I prefer using my hand otk or a paddle/belt bending the spankee over something.

Yes shaming is a big factor when giving a spanking. The fact that my husband receives spankings from my hand makes the correction that more effective. Not only shame during the spanking but I know on Sundays, after the maintenance spanking the rest of day he feels more than just the physical aspect of the correction.My husband eye contact with me and his quite nature is quite obvious after a session with Wife/ Mommy hand and paddle.

Yes that is unfortunate that she does not spank you by hand. You might check out Chawsee post on Oct 18. Her Miss Rose palm paddle sounds like the best alternative,it includes a elastic strap for the hand. The most important thing is that your wife spanks you. More husbands could benefit from a little discipline. My husband sure benefits from our little discussions over my knee through the years.

I remember seeing @Chawsee's pic. I'll have to check it out! But yes, I'm very grateful that my wife is ok with my spanking kink and will indulge me. There are many who are not so lucky.

I am fortunate that I have not had arthritis so I am able to administer a good spanking with my hand. That being said I am going to have my husband purchase this Rose palm paddle soon,I really feel that it will add to my arsenal and give my husband something to think about when we need to have a talk. It sounds like it would work for your wife especially if you go across her knee.

Indeed. I think the most important thing is not what a woman uses when she disciplines her partner - her hand, a hairbrush, a paddle or whatever - but the part of his body on which she disciplines him. When my girlfriend gives me a few warning swats in front of other people, the slight stinging I feel is only a minor factor. More important is my embarrassment at being disciplined on my BOTTOM!

My wife always uses an implement to spank me. These days arthritis in her hands is a factor even using an implement, but from the first, when we were both young and without arthritis, she said she needed the extra reach of an implement because I'm so much larger than her.  Her preference is definitely her large paddle, which is about as large as practical for OTK, and she doesn't hesitate to say it's because it takes less effort for her to achieve the degree of pain and howling she's decided is appropriate for my misbehavior. She reserves her hairbrush for spankings away from home because it fits in her purse and because it's better for tight spaces like the  backseat of the car. She will also use a large nylon kitchen spoon sometimes in a hotel room for less noise (I’m still noisy but I guess it's less obvious that I'm being spanked!).

She always says I prefer the hairbrush, but I really don't have a preference because I end up just as sore and thoroughly paddled whatever implement she uses!

EE here.  I 100% prefer a hand warm-up. After that, implements (belt/strap and paddle are my favs) and ending again with the hand.  But I will always leave the length of the warm-up and ending up to my ER because it's their hand on the line. lol. I'm not a switch, but I don't think mine would last more than 10-12 swats at a time before it would get sore.

My wife has spanked me with her hand but it is not very effective. Her hand gets sore before she has accomplished her goal. As a result, she prefers her wooden paddle for most of my spankings but uses a leather belt on occasion.

Definitely prefer bare hand to bare butt. Seems way more natural and I like the heat exchange. Plus, when you're getting one that way it feels really embarrassing. You really feel naughty. Maybe because at its core, that's what a spanking is to so many people.

You are so right about hand to bare bottom spanking. Yes it is extremely embarrassing for the spankee. I feel very much in charge and it feels very natural to me when I am spanking my husband with my hand. From the scolding to the spanking I consider it a act of love and very personal. My intentions when giving a spanking is to reduce my husband to a child like state when he is naughty. I feel a hand spanking accomplishes that goal.

For my two sense I think spanking is important, and I agree with most of what was said here. For me though I would apply it to stress relief spankings. I personally would not accept a punishment or discipline spanking. To me the idea of a nice loooong hand spanking would be wonderful, longer then you could do with an implement. The sound the feel is so so much more personal.

I agree. When I am across my girlfriend's knee, I feel a great sense of release. I don't have to make excuses or justify myself, I have been naughty and now I am being punished by having my bottom soundly smacked.

My wife has hand problems too. Her only question when I asked for my first spanking was what can I use. I got to pick them out and set them on the bed. I liked laying next to them for her as I waited for her to begin.

For me, a hand spanking seems very intimate so I usually want to use an implement as I feel it’s not as personal. I’m having issues with intimacy lately and implements help bridge the gap without getting too personal.
