Bottom doesn't really redden?

Sooo I got spanked hard for the first time recently. Apparently I don't really redden all that much, and my skin absolutely does not bruise easily! I also heal extremely fast. I know that skin complexion can affect this a bit and I'm not super fair, but seriously... As stupid as I know this must sound, it's kind of insane and making me a bit sad / self-conscious. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything at all I can do for it? ?

Will weight loss help (having less cushion)? What about skincare?

Is not reddening much something only you have observed, or has your spanker also observed that?

The one partner I had who spanked me would remark, during the spanking, how red my bottom looked. But when I checked it in the mirror afterward, it was never more than slightly pink. Even if it was very sore, and even if I stayed sore for a day or two. That might be because it was always either just a hand spanking or light use of implements (but that was still the hardest I've ever been spanked, to date).

To this day, I don't know whether my partner had a different definition of redness than I did, or perhaps my redness faded so fast that it just wasn't there to see by the time I looked.

I had suspicions in the past playing with vanilla partners, but more recently I saw someone in the community with a lot of experience and such suspicions were confirmed. This man bruised a woman with his hand by accident the other day. Yesterday he spanked me with the intent to give me "pretty marks" (with permission, because I needed to know) and my butt looked normal an hour later (if a bit sore.) Today even the soreness is gone.

Why are you so worried about the issue of appearance.  it's how it feels, and how you feel, that matters.  I am going to assume from your description that you are getting a good hard spanking that hurts like hell, but you don't experience the reddening and bruising.  I would just go with the flow, so to speak.  My wife and I have been heavy spankos for 25+ years, and the days of either of us having a tender bottom are long since past.

I guess I am somewhat surprised you are not getting red...especially early on in yourvspanking experience. Early on for me, it did not take muchntomlight mynhind endnup,for several hours.  Inhave found that after 14 years of having my bottom tanned regularly, Indo not redden or mark nearly as easy as early on....butt...lol...that does nit mean I sting less or it lasts less...lol. The intensity of my spankings and whuppins has not decreased at all. I have not researched it, but I feel my skin has actualymgrown thicker or tougher or something...or maybe my little blood vessels under the skin have tetreated deeper when they see his belt come out...lol. I don't know sweetie, but look at it as a good thing,not a downfall, lol..its the sting that counts...lol.

Thanks for the reply and the input! To answer your question about the appearance thing; I guess... It's sorta one of those things, y'know? If you're a spanko then you know there's something about seeing that redness and stuff. And I guess I think it must be sorta disappointing and/or a lot of effort to the top, as well. 

On the other hand, maybe you have a point and in part I've been comparing myself to others too much. That said, it really just feels like a thing that's supposed to happen... And tops can seem almost taken aback when it only sorta does! Plus I haven't been doing this for 25 years. What if 25 yrs from now I need someone to hit me with a bat for it to do anything?! ?

Just from an outsiders perspective there is also a lot to be said for realizing the benefit of the spanking.  If one conducts spankings for punishment and discipline it is often very satisfying to see the change in behavior, and improved attitude a spanking will produce.  And If spankings are given more for enjoyment the is satisfaction in knowing the bottom received what he or she needed.

@Inksie What a dilemma you have. Not being able to see visible recovering quickly isn't as uncommon as you think.  I have a friend who we use to call Queen Ironbutt and from day 1 she could take an amazing spanking and other than a few bloodblisters she never showed anything.  That doesn't mean she wasn't being affected by the spanking because she was definitely vocal and squirmy.  

One of the things we started doing is I would use more stingy toys and use my hand to maximize sting versus thud and...magically redness started to show up on a regular basis. Towards the end of our play I would use something particularly mean Tire Tread Strap, which for her also produced a mark that was only visible a day later.  But yeah, other than those instances she just doesn't mark or color.

As far as how I personally feel as a Top about that...I am more about the interaction/response and energy than one who cares about the coloring and bruising unless we both set our intentions for that purpose.   Happy play and  just revel in the fact that your partners enjoy having such a very spankable bottom across their laps to pay eager attention to.

I'm no expert...but bottom reddening has always fascinated me

I have a pretty light complexion and my bottom does get red...but it doesn't stay red or get bad marks easily...even from a pretty hard spanking...at first I kept trying to get bruises from self spanking and later boyfriends...because I wanted to experience it...and it did happen and I liked aspects of it...but it took pretty severe spankings to happen...so it's not something I want very often...

I don't know about what spankers like exactly...but some boyfriends (and especially the one true spanko one I had) have told me they don't like to spank over marks as much as starting with a pure unblemished bottom and getting to redden it up (or pinken it up ) fresh...so maybe not getting red or marked too easily is kind of a blessing...because you can get spanked more often and the spanker will get to start with a blank slate every time

Love seeing a bottom changing colors but it’s not the most important or at times some need to avoid the coloring. You can get a hard spanking but if the spanker is experienced he/she can help keep that down. Each individual is different and where some turn bright red quickly and others with same skin tone do not. Sometimes I try not to leave a mark where other times it’s important that I do. But skin care before and after help, spankings dry the skin so lotion prior hell (not right before lol more painful), a coo damp towel soon after a spanking reduces heat and redness also arnica cream soon after helps with bruising. Implements used make a difference and how the spankings applied. You learn many tricks over the years and one can not send home a happier, less stressed and even more submissive wife if you leave color/marks. Hubby can enjoy the benefits and wonder why she’s  sweeter without seeing anything left behind

And, yes, it varies from person to person. 
 

I’ve had at least two ees  who I spanked 2 or more times in a single session. They’d get red - really deep red - but by the second spanking came around they looked like they’d not been spanked at all. 
 

It’s not at all related to the severity of the spanking. I remember ages ago one young lady who’d redden at first swat. A perfect image of my hand instantly and completely red in minutes. I also have known ones who don’t redden at all.

For me I've noticed I have almost a permanent tendency towards some redness all the time, especially around the sit spots. I assume that is as result of years of self spanking. It still hurts and gets redder during the spanking but fades to the background redishness quickly. The sting fades over a few minutes or a 1/2 hour or so. On harder spankings it will fade but still  be quite noticeable when I sit. The skin is tougher which is why assume this is.

I have to agree with dmirk, it varies from person to person and doesn't have much to do with severity. My partner says my bottom gets red very quickly when she spanks it, even when she just uses her hand.

On the subject of reddening, I already mentioned that it varies from person to person and I suppose it can be different with the same person at different times though I can’t immediately think of one. 
 

Complexion sometimes plays a part but not always. I remember two women with very light complexions.  One it took quite an effort to redden. The other on the first smack there was my handprint. Even if it wasn’t a hard one.
