Metalica would probably have been a close second for me at 16. From 17 I got into heavier stuff like CoC and Pantera than onto black and death metal. No wonder my hearings rubbish and my neck and shoulder tend to hurt from all that head banging back then. All great fun ! 1 Link to comment

shygurl
I always loved music I could sing to. In high school I loved singing in our talent shows. At 16, in 1986, I loved Madonna, The Bangles, Journey, Cyndi Lauper, Atlantic Star and many more. I could never pick one band as a favorite. 1 Link to comment
Pokerbabe
When I was 16, I think it was Marilyn Manson. Funny, cause I can't stand the guy now. Link to comment
nicoleS39
Sad to say, I was raised Amish and at 16, we had no radio or tv or car. The Amish see electricity...at least from the grid or the "airwaves" as potentially demonic. I do love music today, however. One of the first things my husband did with me was to buy me a guitar of my own and encourage me to play and sing. Music fills me life today. When I ran away from the Amish and way before I met my husband, the first thing I did when I had just a little bit of cash was...buy a transistor radio so I could listen to music anytime I wanted! 2 Link to comment
Geoffreaux
Led Zeppelin. If I had to pick one, they would still be my favorite. Link to comment

Lol...I find this guy "interesting"...lol. I never really liked his music personally, but he certainly was not afraid to upset the apple cart...lol. I actually went to one of his concerts as an "escort" when I think I was 19 or 20. I guess I liked that he was so very opposite the strict Amish world I had fled from...I guess it just fee my rebellious spirit all the more....lol. A "memorable" night?...lol...the client had me for a "date night" and paid $500 plus expenses. In the nice hotel after the concert, I did my thing and slowly stripped down to my sexy underthings...which he had requested be black with a corset and gartered hose....while he changed clothing in the bathroom. He took forever...but when he finally came out, he had fixed himself up to be his best version of a Marilyn Manson look alike. Well...it was...yes...an "interesting" evening...that had to helped along by a couple whiskey shots for me...lol. But, Ingave him his money's worth...lol. Link to comment
KentuckyGuy
By the time I was 16, the Beatles had broken up, and most of the songs I listened to were from solo artists such as Jim Croce, Marvin Gaye, Elton John, Carly Simon, John Denver, Paul Simon, people like that. Link to comment
