Board updates (done and temp theme)

Hello everyone, 

We have updated both the chat room, and IPB (thanks to @Mystery Man)l; and troubleshooting our old theme (we may have to re-create it); in the meantime we have a darker colored theme. We can also discuss theme modifications if we have to completely redo our old theme (that needed to be re-done anyways).  Here are some of the issues that should have been fixed today (please PM below if your still having an issue): 

1. Board lagging, are you noticing any lag?

2. Chat lag. How is the chat? 

3. Are members still having logging out issues?

Hey unfortunately I no longer have a drop down box in the top right corner of my screen where I can access the personal messenger and chat and long out and stuff. Can I get that back please ?

Still don't have the drop dowm menu for notification log in and to access my account and profile. Will there be a drop down menu for photo galary like before!! I do like the change more opportunities to chat and post different dubjects

The mobile site doesn’t allow me to access chat or search the forum.

Please make sure you are using the theme called "temp theme" (or refresh); as stated in my original post the theme would look different, I didn't realize it didn't automatically carry over to members!

Are there alternative skins we can select? The dark background makes this site inaccessible to me. I can only use sites with neutral toned, white, or muted pastel backgrounds. Anything very dark or very bright hurts my eyes and makes the text extremely difficult for me to read.

We will be working on a solution soon. This was just a quick fix.

Ditto, the site is running faster and that is a vast improvement.

I did not notice the theme. I use the Midnight Lizard add-on in Firefox to turn the background black and text bright on every web site. I find that easier on old eyes.

However-- I just disabled Midnight Lizard, and I do notice that the theme is a pleasant dark. A criticism I have is that in the message edit box, the buttons [Source] [BoldKeyboard shortcut Ctrl+B] & etc. are dim and difficult to read.

For that reason, I reenabled Midnight Lizard, and now the site looks perfect again.

Dark backgrounds, yay! I am so glad that the entire Internet seems to be migrating in that direction. Staring into a bright light source all day...is not good for the eyes.

Thank you for offering an option besides the black background with white font. It was too dark, and the "About Me" section of each person's profile was almost impossible to read. The blue option, though, is a keeper.

The blue theme will likely be the default theme and the black theme as a side option. We are still ironing out some issues with the blue theme though! We had to quickly add something on after our last theme broke (and the black one was a pre-made one).

Thanks for all you guys are doing, Child of Light and @Mystery Man. It can't be an easy task to overhaul a forum this big. We appreciate you both for your dedication. ? The site has been running at good speed and the shades of blue you've chosen are really pretty. The 2-tone milk & dark chocolate were lovely, also. Sorry to hear that that theme broke, but I applaud you for having chosen it. It was a very attractive neutral option. The blue is good, too, though.

I just updated to fix the bug @St.George mentioned for the black theme and icon bar not showing up like it should -- (those in the blue one will have to re-enter it-- sorry); we're still working on that theme quite a bit and fixing some bugs out.

The site is consistently fast in my experience. Used to be all kind of delays, now, smooth sailing! And the buttons are back. I'm not running Lizard and they look OK.

I didn't know there was a new pink and brown theme until you made this post! Tried it out and it is beautiful! 

Easier to read, too. None of the color contrast issues with the text that the blue theme has.

Can you print screen the color contrast parts of the blue?  And I still have to modify the pink one so that some of the functions work properly!
