Hi Sarah

I know people complain about accuracy with self caning.

I believe it's finding a position and length of cane that works for the individual and of course practice when swinging to try and actually hit where you intend to strike!

I favour a shorter cane as too long and it becomes a little awkward

You may end up striking your back or hips which isn't ideal where as the bottom is more suited to receiving the impact.

It's good to experiment with different thicknesses of cane and you don't need to spend a fortune on especially made canes you can wrap normal garden canes in electrical tape and it stops the bamboo from splitting or splintering...but experiment and have fun with time accuracy will improve and if you feel the need you could shell out on purpose made punishment canes if you fed up taping up well used garden canes...the main thing is finding what works for you!

Happy experimenting ?

Self spanking works well when no one is available to give a real spanking.  I have used it more than a few times. I do know a female spanker who is too far away to meet for a real session over her knees. She does direct my self spanking by phone. Soon we hope to use SKYPE

I started self spanking when I was 11 years old with my mothers plastic hairbrush. It was OK but not great. As I got older and started trading spankings with males and females self spanking was no longer needed.  Now married to a vanilla who thinks spanking is sick its back to self spanking.

I have found a wood bath brush available at CVS or Walmart usually under $ 10.00 works VERY well for self spanking. I am able to really make it burn. Not as good as someone else spanking me but better that NO spanking.

Last year a bad boy came to me for a punishment spanking for something he got away with as a child. I warned him what was in store but he came anyway. I used my self spanking brush and gave him one of the top five hardest and longest spankings I have ever given.

Canes can be used for punishment, but your physique can affect a self-caning's effectiveness. Optimally, you'll want long arms, a flexible torso, and a strong striking arm, but you can make do without these.

Positioning is probably the most important. Caning on your stomach or lying flat bent over never works well because you don't have enough room to swing. I highly recommend the following in order of most optimal to least:
1. diaper positions (Especially if you can hold your legs up with another hand in order to keep your bottom relaxed)
2. Side positions — but make sure your bottom has clearance below you. I recommend the side of a bed.
3. Bent over — one hand on your knees, a bench, a wall, or a bed

Cane type is also important: I can get away with using a 32" cane because I have long arms, but usually you'll want something less than 2 feet. Optimally between 1.5 feet. Too short and you won't get any whippiness, too long and you won't be able to hit your bottom. I also recommend thinner, whippier canes. While they're more likely to break, you'll actually feel your punishment.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me!

NCG,

How do you swing the cane to be effective. I've tried with 1-1.5 foot dowels of various thicknesses. Swing down while standing, does not hurt and the cane has to be too short. Using a wrist flick from the side is more accurate but also does not hurt. I'm not sure if my technique is wrong or it takes a large number to make it hurt. Any suggestions appreciated. I have tried diaper porition, with the same, poor results.

Thanks.

It honestly depends on your own anatomy. I have fairly long arms and am quite slim so I can make it work.

1' dowels are also way too small. While long ones are impossible to use, you don't get any spin with short ones, so I recommend increasing the length to 22-28". Make sure it's rattan too if possible, otherwise bamboo should work.

I guess I'll have to visit a home depot and see what they have inthe 2 ft range. I'm assuming you swing from the side, flick your wrist?

Thanks.

Never used a can before but it seems to me that s shorter one will be very effective.  I think if you lie down on a bed or on your knees and start swinging hard will really sting your naked bottom. It probably will give your butt multiple scratches which will probably burn for days. When I can I am going to try to self spank with a cane and it probably will be an experience I will remember for a long time. I know My naked bottom will!!!

Never had the cane and would not know how to go about it as a self spank

I use a round wooden dowel stick that came off of an old chair. It's about 16 inches long & about 1/2 inch thick. You can stand up, bend over, be on your knees, or bend over a couch arm or chair like you're OTK. Hold it similar to a brush. It can deliver some good stinging swats to your bare butt.

The cane is definitely the most difficult implement to use for self-spanking, in my experience. I have a rattan cane a a drlrin 3-cane bundle. The Delton bundle is easy because it's heavier and doedn't take much to really hurt. My rattan cane can be a bit tricky, and I don't use it often because it just isn't as easy to use as my paddles, brushes, or straps. I usually bend over my couch armrest with a pillow to really stretch my bottom for the cane, to make it a bit more effective. I go from the side and use a good wrist flick to cane myself. I manage to get some decent stripes. And I found the cane, while maybe not the most painful implement in the moment, leaves a real lingering pain I feel for a good while after, even more than most paddlings.

I think the cane is one of those rare implements that, logistically, cannot be used as effectively on oneself because you can't do an arm swing like an ER can, or like us self-spankers can do with paddles and straps. But it can be used effectively enough with practice.

Brilliant advice on this topic I think I might try the diaper position then I can have a go at the bottom crease where buttock meets thigh...I've always got such a rush thwacking into such a sensitive space the same with the 'inner' butt cheeks very sensitive I can't take hard swipes there too much I squeal literally!

...but just lately I've been favouring a length of fence wire it's very flexible sheathed in green rubber/plastic quite weighty it doesn't take much to give a powerful whack and you can bend it to create a handle or if it goes out of shape it's easy to straighten I would hate to take it full force just firm swipes leave hot stripes on me.

But good luck experimenting guys

Johnny?

I voted no, then thought more about  it. While a bathbrush is more efficient overall, IMHO, I have used a curtain rod before, which is like the cane, and it was pretty effective, leaving a striped and bruising bottom. But you have to be super careful where it hits, which is not really a problem with the bathbrush.
