Maintenance Spanking

Hi Everyone,

Advise please, Just wondering how to introduce Maintenance Spankings, My Wife's behaviour improves after each spanking and I'm thinking maybe a regular scheduled in spanking would be worth considering?

Any ideas on this ?..I normally spank Her OTK on Her bare bottom ,should a maintenance Spanking be any different ?

A maitence spanking should be less harsh but it should inforse that if she breaks yr rules shell be over yr knee shortly it could be every 2 weeks to once a month

This should be tailored to your relationship. How often is she in trouble? If it's often then once a week might be best, less often then once or twice a month. Set it up so she always knows when it will be. All spankings should be bare bottom, but the position should be up to you.

As a spankee I prefer it to be once a week. It's definitely lighter than a punishment spanking, but still hurts and leaves enough of a reminder to watch my behavior. Personally, I think maintenance spankings are important in a full time relationship.

Building on what Shygurl said, the way I did it back in the day was to give a fairly light to moderate hand spanking every Saturday. If she'd gotten through the week without a spanking or a warning or a "look of death" then she had the option of taking the spanking over her panties instead of bare. 

The whole point is that a maintenance spanking needs to be markedly less than a punishment spanking, as it sets the tone that bad behavior will bring far worse consequences. But as Shygurl said, it needs to be tailored to the nature of your relationship. So use the feedback from this thread as a malleable suggestions which you can customize to make into a practical practice.

I'm with shygurl and DaChief on this one, for sure.  It would be prudent to talk to your wife and get her feelings on this issue.  Maintenance can be an important part of a relationship, but you may not want to simply impose your will concerning them (as regards frequency, severity, bare or clothes, etc.) without first getting her input.  I can see how doing so may cause resentment if she is not in agreement that maintenance would be beneficial.

I would think once a week  would be in order, but  at a lower intensity . We shoot for at least once a week, but we do it for as a fix to my spanking fetish, not for any punishment or maintenance.  It's always severe and satisfying.

Once a week to once every two weeks works well for maintenance, but it all depends on how often she's being spanked at other times for actual punishment.  I agree that maintenance spankings can be less intense than punishment ones, but still must be hard enough and long enough that she gets the message why she's being spanked, namely for all the little things she does that wouldn't by themselves deserve a major spanking. I prefer to give maintenance spankings on the bare bottom but the two of you may discuss other options. It should at least be done over her underpants and never while fully dressed. 

Another option for in between spankings is the logbook-points system where every evening the two of you get together for a few moments and write down what rules have been broken during the day, or what things she reports have taken place that might have been done differently and have caused some sort of issue. At the start of going on this system, you sit down and make a list of things and assign each one a certain number of points. Then you determine the tipping point for getting a spanking, many people have used 21 as the magic number, but it could be higher depending on how quickly she accumulates points. The ideal combination of points and tipping point chosen should result in reaching that magic number about once every week or 10 days. Letting it take a month to accumulate means the tipping point is too high or the points assigned to specific things are too low. 

Very minor things might be one or two points, more serious things might be 5 points or even 10.  The important thing is that none of these things would have in themselves usually resulted in an immediate spanking or punishment. If logbook-points is something that might work for you, then it creates a valid reason for a maintenance sort of spanking in between those major events that require immediate action.  Some couples I know set a rule that a 10 point offense would automatically trigger a punishment spanking for that offense given immediately, but the 10 points would also remain in the logbook thereby forcing the next tipping point to occur sooner than it might have otherwise. You have to figure out what works for you.

Definitely should be discussed with her first. She might not react the same way to a maintenance spanking as she does to a discipline spanking. On the other hand, if she "enjoys" being spanked, maybe you should also try good girl or reward spankings that are more sensual/erotic.

This is so true. Discipline and punishment are fine (for me) and I have a totally different response to a disciplinary spanking than I do maintenance.

After 20 years of marriage and giving my husband maintenance spankings which started when we were dating,I am a strong believer in their benefits for domestic discipline. First for the spankee who wants to be spanked,it gives them something to look forward to and for the spanker giving a spanking should be hard enough so they behave the rest of the week. I always administer a long hand spanking and paddle my husband with a small lexan paddle over my knee. By no means should a maintenance spanking ever be has severe as a true punishment spanking.Most recently I have increased the severity of his maintenance spanking and have seen a husband who definitely does not want one for the rest of the week. I definitely believe that yes a hand spanking foxy and a small paddle will reinforce who is charge in your marriage. Heavier implements I feel should be used for punishment only. My boyfriend and I are new at this. He is going to try out maintenance spankings once a week to see how it goes. Every Sunday morning he wants me to ask for the spanking. He said that if I was good that week then the spanking would be short and sweet like me. Over his knee on my bare bottom with his hand. If he had to punish me that week, however, the severity would increase to address my overall behavior. I’m OK with this. I think it would be a good way to start out the week with a clean slate.
