Very sad to hear of the passing of Jeff Labar of Cinderella earlier this week. One of those bands who got unfairly lumped in with that whole hair metal thing ( which in itself was a rather shaky concept - just a bunch of kickass rock n roll bands that still put a smile on my face )....

I've been on a Dave Stamey kick recently. He's an authentic cowboy musician. That's a whole different critter than a modern "country" star.

I'm on a bit of a classic comedy song kick today. Got my Ray Stevens playlist going lol. Brings back memories of my youth since the parents loved him and we always though he was super funny. At this very moment it's the barber song, next up is mississippi squirrel revival.

Though I love western music from authentic cowboy singers, and I listen to such songs a great deal, my lifelong favorite artist was always, and still is, John Denver. This man influenced my world views and life path more than did any other single human being. This is one of his most spiritual songs, and one that is particularly dear to my heart... especially toward the end. It reverberates all the way to my soul.

@chawsee Some of my fondest childhood memories were listening to the John Denver and The Muppets Christmas special on cassette. It got chewed up so much over the years that my Dad had to keep repairing it.

Really? Awesome, UK! I have those songs, too, on iTunes.  The video is on YouTube, also, if you'd enjoy seeing it at Christmastime.

I wouldn't go so far as to call them punk, but it's related for sure. Great band and a particularly good album.

Those are the major ones.  I kinda liked Youth Brigade.  My favorites were the sort of bands that mutated into something other than straight hardcore later i.e Husker Du.
