How do you drink your coffee?

Like @OhRedhead, I do not drink coffee at all. I enjoy cozy coffee shops and I love the aroma of coffee, but I have no interest in taking up the habit. However, each winter, around the holiday season, I indulge in daily mugs of hot chocolate. Starbucks Double Chocolate is my favorite. I stock up on boxes of it this time of year. :)

Don’t know how you do it.  I couldn’t function in the morning without coffee, I mean my brain just wouldn’t turn on.  Do you ever feel like you’re missing out by not drinking coffee, like when you go to coffee shops?

@Chawsee have you tried some Mexican hot chocolate for a bit of heat? I love the little bite to my hot chocolate.
I can see the lure of a nice hot chocolate on a cold day, yum!

Hi dre4mgirl. I tried Mexican hot chocolate once. It wasn't my thing. I love pure, intense (quality) chocolate, unadulterated by cinnamon. I won't even add marshmallows, nor peppermint at Christmastime, because to me, those additions ruin perfection. Just straight, rich chocolate... haha. 😋 But that's just me. 😉

Haha. No, I never miss out when I'm at a coffee shop! Are you kidding? Coffee shops are a little slice of heaven on earth. The lovely soft lighting, the pretty artwork on the walls (usually nature-inspired here in the mountains), the delicious smells, the cozy ambiance, the friendly and cheerful folks behind the counter, the hot chocolate and fresh baked goods....

@Chawsee....ahh..that makes me and my husband feel good. 🙂 You are right, not everybody who comes into a coffee shop actually drinks coffee...but they can still enjoy the "warmth" and "cozy.". Our coffee shop also serves healthy nutritious smoothies as well as tea and hot chocolate. With us...the atmosphere is as important as the drinks we serve.

@nicoleS39 I'd visit your coffee shop! I do drink coffee, but I have limited tolerance for it. When I go to a coffee shop, I usually need something with less or no caffeine. I appreciate the shops that offer good alternatives.

Coffee, I like with just enough milk and sugar to take the edge off the bitterness, but not enough to make it white and sweet. On the rare occasion that I get it at a coffee shop, I indulge in half and half, but I don't bother buying that for home.

Once in a while I add cinnamon and nutmeg to my coffee. Makes it extra decadent.

I never pay attention to any of those things, just get my coffee, sit down and bury my face in a newspaper, LOL.  You seem like a fun and interesting person to hang out with.   I think I may need to go to a coffee shop with you to get the “enriched” experience.  😄

I would very much like to visit your and your husband’s coffee shop.  You got any of those chocolate chip cookies baking there?   Now, if I can just get @Chawsee to come with me...   🤫 😎

lol...unfortunately we do not serve those in their "real" form you are thinking/wishing....lol...but mine are pretty good, or so I am told...lol.  We serve various breakfast and lunch type sandwiches, and we order some pastries from a bakery regularly that makes everything gluten free, but still very tasty. We also get some low carb (pretty much keto) pastries and baked goods...including cookies. Our clients are very health and diet aware....a niche for our business. BUT...we DO have this sweet little lady in town, not far from us...who makes us the very best cinnamon rolls I have ever tasted...and they are not gluten free or low sugar...but they ARE delicious....and great with coffee. She makes us 4 dozen three days a week....and they get completely sold out...very popular. Today they are not a available...but tomorrow...I am really looking forward to getting me one!  And...they are big too!

Yup I’d go for one of those big cinnamon rolls.  😉

This is a fun and very sweet thread - reminds of an effort we made years ago to create a travel and verification resource so that members who wished to, could meet up as they traveled.  At one point there was a map with member's cities (who chose to participate).

I recently mentioned to someone here that as much as I travel cross country, I've wished that our "community" had something similar to "The Friends of Bill W" that allows AA members to anonymously find each other for support and fellowship.  Very common in hotels or on cruises, etc to hear PA announcements that "The Friends of Bill W" will be getting together in _______".  I always thought it would be fun if we had a pin, expression, code phrase we could use.

After having met a number of folks here in person, I quickly realized that any of us could be moving in and amongst other spankos without any way of knowing it.  I keep thinking that sooner or later someone's gonna open a spanking B & B...I hope it's on a lake or river so they can name it "The Paddle Inn"😃

hehehe - it'd be really fun to hear someone announce that on a two-way radio:

"Attention Friends of Ben" - "Over"
😂
