Update on Site [Change of Ownership]

Recommended Posts

Hello, everyone,

I love this community. I've been a member of this site for 6 years and truly love our discussions and the resource that this site provides to members interested in spanking. I'm humbled to announce that I have purchased the site and am looking forward to working with and hearing from all of you in the days, weeks, and years to come.

I bought the site to help ensure that our community is supported and that everyone feels welcome and supported when it comes to discussing spanking between consensual adults. To this end, I want to assure you that I'm going work collaboratively to ensure that any change is fully considered and opinions are collected.

My first order of business is looking at the underlying software that runs the forum. I know many of (including myself) have been taken back by the change last week. Change can be a good thing but it needs buy-in from the community as well as a good underlying reason to support it. I will report back to you all next week with an update here. I understand that many aren't able to login or register and that is something I'm looking into ASAP. Please note this is a top priority.

Again, I'm humbled to be apart of such a vibrant community and I'm looking forward to our journey together.

Please don't hesitate to ask any questions.

Have a great weekend,

Updated post about this weekend further in the thread here.

Congrats! It's good to know that someone that has a real interest in the site and spanking has taken ownership. I'll never forget how helpful you were when I was trying to sort all this out in the beginning. If not for this site then I wouldn't have had the level of support in this that I did. Thank you and all the best.

firstly I would like to thank @spankmeal for running such a great site all these years. this is truly a refuge for many of us.

Child of Light - as the new site owner, may I humbly suggest you remove any and all language pertaining to the spanking of Children?

There's a number of pages and areas on this site that mention it, and it is my opinion that it detracts from the purpose of the site - namely, that of promoting, encouraging, and discussing Safe Sane and Consensual Spanking practices among Adults.

Thank you for considering this, and best of luck with your new venture!

@Gator That's actually something I’ve voiced for many years and will be editing, in the next couple weeks. This is an adults spanking site. And I assure you that it will be well known that! The site has never allowed children content -- and any reference wont be on the site. Spankmeal has always had the community best interest at heart. He hasn't ever allowed discussions of minors and a strict policy of  minors never joining the site-- but tried to upload content to main page of (safe) resources on how to talk to their parents and told children not to find someone online. It's a difficult position to be in... trying to look at all sides of things! The community has been vocal in not wanting that even mentioned. Which is something, as someone part of the community, that I also leaned towards.

I also want to give you much thanks for crediting Spankmeal -- he ran a great site and hoping to still have his guidance here. ❤️

What happened to Hope and Gentle? It makes me nervous not seeing their familiarity of posts and comments... I know things take time, and like Gator said, this site has been such a refuge; with all this chaos and uprooting, I'm worried my sense of safety and comfort with this site may cease to exist.

Logging in hasn't been easy but it's Jo here so resourcefulness abounds. After finding the IP address and knowing what to do with one managed it.😅

Congratulations in taking over the reins and thanks to spankmeal and Hope and Gentle for their time running it.

I'd echo your words over reference to 'actual' children and cp here as that topic impacted both of us badly and it any and all references to it need to go off site cos this is a site FOR adults whose lives include cp and that alone needs to be what content here should be centred on.

Congrats to making your way all the way through the forest to our testing (going live today) site! It will be much easier to find the site later today with the actual domain pointed to us! :)

Hello, everyone...

Testing... 1..2..3... I think we're back!  Woohoo! 🦄

It's been long several days on the back-end of the site. Many thanks to our wonderful developer @SpankingNeeds who has spent many hours  bringing SN back to running order -- our dedicated Moderation Team @Hope @GentleDisciplinarian and every single one of you that have reached out to all of us asking us what you could do to help. That is what a community is. Really, all of us have been extremely grateful for how patient each and every one of you have been.

We also couldn't and wouldn't forget the original founder @spankmeal -- and glad a few folks here have mentioned the great work he's done.

About two weeks ago the site went offline. When it came back online, many of us (myself included) were surprised to see that the site had changed (as mentioned in the original post). It came to light that @spankmeal had sold the site during that time and the new owners had upgraded to a new software platform.

We purchased the site from the new owners just days after. We are humbled and thankful that we had the opportunity to buy back the site for our community. It's just been an honor and we are so thrilled... words can't describe it.

After discussing with @Hope and @GentleDisciplinarian, and speaking with several of you in chat, it was clear we as a community, needed to go back to the old software program (Invision Powerboard). There were a lot of conversion issues that happened when the site was taken from the one platform to the other.

The site went down Friday night to accommodate the transfer. We are now running on a new server, with Invision Powerboard and are thrilled to be back up and running. Unfortunately, some of the new user registrations, posts, and other activities in the community are not currently on the site. @SpankingNeeds is working on this and we hope to have an update soon as to if they will be ported over.

As we finalize the transition, there may be some features that behave oddly. If you encounter something like this, please let us know! Thank you for your patience, the site is back up and you can now see, it went through another change -- but one we're all more familiar with, our home. ❤️

Please use the Board Help & Feedback section to report anything wonky going on and for us to help you get your account up-and-running again!

A huge thanks to @Child of Light for buying and preserving the site! Without getting into too many details I could no longer afford to give SN either the time or money that it needs, and the maintenance of the site now exceeds my technical abilities. I believe the site to be in very capable hands, and am pleased to remain a member and help in any way I can.
