Yesterday was a one step forward / two steps back kind of day. I am not missing my former partner as a disciplinarian, but as an old, dear friend. Talking to him yesterday did bring me some sense of closure and I am glad about that. Now to focus on all the other things going on!
One spanko-goal I have for this year is to go to a munch (is that still the hip and cool word to use?) or meet-up with other spankos. Even if just for coffee or lunch. If you have been to a munch, how did it go?

in my town they also have "sloshes" same concept as a munch only the slosh is held in a bar. I havent gone to a Slosh! we havent had any actual Spanko munches in town, there's a large kink/bdsm community so they have plenty of meetups. we used to have a Bigs & littles munch that I quite enjoyed but its been a few years

I'm a veteran of a few munches and a handful of play parties. Munches can be fun, a lot depends on the establishment where the munch is being held. Places that have a private room are ideal. but to answer your question, going to a munch is like having a meal with relatives you dont know very well, some of them you may have heard of and want to spend time with, others you would prefer to avoid, and there's always a certain amount of tension in regards to who is most likely to spill food and stain their clothing.

anyone with poor hygiene.
aside from that I'm pretty easy going. I prefer to give light to moderate spankings but can dish out the punishment for those who need it. I'm experienced and busy, so I simply don't have the time nor inclination for a long drawn out months and months of online discourse. at the end of the day someone's bare bottom is getting spanked, and if a "like you as a friend" level of chemistry is lacking its not going to work, so why waste time with chit chat? there's plenty of time for that before, during, and after sessions
also, I truly dont understand how you can spank someone without liking them as a person, but to each their own

I have made no secret that my disciplinary partner decided to end our relationship - and the main reason for sharing that is to be able to work through my feelings in a spanko space. My vanilla friends wouldn't understand the spanko intricacies and my closest friend was also my disciplinary partner, so that leaves me without an avenue for deeper discussion outside of SN. I am grateful to those of you who have shared your own struggles and provided guidance or kind words.
I have had a few Tops reach out to me about filling the disciplinary void -- specifically working with me as a mentor / disciplinarian in the same way as my former partner. I am just not ready yet. And I may not be ready for a long time. I am not trying to be rude, but I need to feel comfortable with a disciplinary partner in a way that extends beyond a general meet-up with my fellow spankos. Discipline, for me, requires more trust, more common ground, more consistency, and more caring. That is not something I can just jump into.
That being said, I am always happy to discuss spanking - whether for discipline or fun.

breakups are hard. spanko breakups are harder. not only do you lose the spanking partner, but you also lose the relationship, be it a friendship, mentorship, or something more intimate.
sorry you're both going through this.
I realized recently how much I miss my previous spanking partner as well, and our relationship was nowhere near as intense as what you two have described.

Hey, everyone! So I'd like to share that I attended my second spanking party ever! It was amazing! At my first party in July I only went to observe and left feeling unfulfilled. This Saturday i was so happy to be leaving the party with a sore bottom. I was spanked by 2 gentlemen of which one I am calling "uncle" now. I'm looking forward to the next party!
