You have a point Melissa. However, as a straight guy and a spanko switch, I have both spanked and been spanked by men and women. It is not primarily sexual for me in that I am not looking for sex at all with a woman when I’m spanking her, and I’m not always turned on at the time when I’m spanking a woman. I do definitely love a woman’s bare bottom while a man’s bottom does nothing for me. But it is also the dynamic that is different. I think another reason guys say it’s not sexual is because there are a lot of guys that say they are into spanking when all they really want is sex. Meanwhile guys like me who are true spankos want to set ourselves apart in stating that we aren’t in it for sex at all. Being able to provide a woman with a spanking is more than enough reward for me. Now on the receiving end, I don’t have a strong preference. A spanking is a spanking and it hurts either way. I agree with what some have already said. Crying is not directly correlated to the amount of pain. I’ve made my friend cry several times because I scolded her for areas in her life where I know she can do better and then followed up with only a medium intensity spanking that released tears like a waterfall. Other times when I’ve spanked much harder but without getting in her “headspace”, she wasn’t even close to tears. I think it really comes down to the connection and trust the spanker and spankee have together.
